What is Chiropractic care?

Chiropractic is a health care profession specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of conditions related to the muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves and joints of the body. Chiropractors hold at least 7 years of post-secondary education, with over 4500 hours of academic and clinical education in courses such as biochemistry, neurology, anatomy, biomechanics, microbiology, radiology, exercise physiology, and rehabilitation.

Our chiropractic approach is unique in that we not only look at the symptoms but we also address the cause. Our physical examination includes a functional movement screen and/or a selective functional movement assessment that detects abnormal movement patterns that increase the likelihood of injury.

Our treatment approach is diverse and includes joint manipulation and mobilization in conjunction with soft tissue therapies (Active Release Techniques®, Graston® and Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization®), Laser Therapy, Neuro-proprioceptive taping (Kinesio Tape), and specific rehabilitation exercises (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization®).
